Rumors
Hannah references rumors that she hoped to get away from when her family moved. What do you imagine she meant? Define the word “rumor.” What comment does this story make about rumors in general? Discuss how rumors and truth can be connected. Is one more powerful than the other? Can rumors be positive? Does Hannah’s story change your original point of view on this subject?
I think Hannah meant by rumors is just the stuff thats going on with her what people say just stuff like that. hannah killed herself and it could be because of rumors because they can hurt people because they might not be positive and just really made her feel bad. A rumor is just something someone makes up of you often times a lie. It can hurt people just make them feel terrible. Rumors can sometimes be true or somebody who doesn’t know you hears a rumor about you and they can think its true. I think the truth is more powerful than a rumor because the truth can’t always be good. Rumors can be positive but usually they most likely aren’t. Hannah story doesn’t really change my point of view on this subject.

I like your thought processes here, Ronaldo. I think rumors are something that usually don't tend to be too positive - otherwise it'd be called "news" - ya know? Perhaps an overarching theme here that you're noticing in the novel is the "price of rumors" and what happens when a false accusation about someone goes too far.
