Discuss the role that the presence of Hannah’s voice plays as a physical presence on the tapes. Is the impact the tapes have different from the impression a suicide note would have left? Why do you think she recorded and left the tapes? If her story had been recorded on CDs or MP3 files would the effect have been different?
I think that if those people on the list all hear her voice thinking they would never hear it again causes a bigger impact on them. They will feel worse especially knowing that a second set of tapes could be released at anytime. If she just left a suicide note then she couldn't have really talked to them. I wouldn't feel as bad as reading her suicide note but listening to her voice after she is dead would make me feel even worse. I think by her talking to all of the people on her tapes is like revenge making them carry that burden for the rest of their lives.
